Position Summary

The SOS Volunteer will be responsible for teaching in Schools for the hearing impaired in Delhi covered across a period of 3 to 4 months (from 1 strictly in English as we aim to empower the hearing­impaired for chat­based tech support.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and engaging with the students or sub set of students with the instructional hours.
  • Supporting school relations
  • Reporting to the SOS team on a weekly basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Good interpersonal and soft skills.
  • Ability to teach and engage the deaf and dumb.
  • Maturity of handling hearing impaired kids.
  • Ability to build and sustain school relations.

Important Information:

  • The volunteering program will be of 18 weeks spread across a period of 3 to 4 months.
  • The instructional hours will be 2 hours a week ( 2 hours between 07:30 Hrs to 14:00 Hrs ), 2 days a week.
  • No absence will be permitted during the period of volunteership.

Position Summary:

The Marketing and Fundraising associate will be responsible for and involved in the brand management & communication for the organization as well as for increasing the contributions of individuals and groups by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities from various sources.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Mumbai Zone Manager to design and produce in-house marketing and promotional materials and coordinate fundraising articles and inserts

Position Summary:

Team Ahead- Mentor will be responsible for creating the strategy and enabling maximum school impact throughout the city through initiating and building relationships with partner schools and leveraging key influencers in the local city government. The Manager will also be responsible for overall community liaison strategy and networking with NGOs working in and around the placement school clusters and communities, to provide a conducive environment for School Leaders and School Mentors to deliver on their goals for student achievement. Also responsible for creating a strategy for expansion and placements within the city. The mentor is responsible to find long term solutions for partnering with the Government at State and City level. The role also involves training and supporting School Leaders and School Mentors to have impact in their classrooms, schools and communities, to have impact on themselves. The team works with various stakeholders in like our Alumni, Government, corporates, foundations, NGOs to drive our vision.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Invest, sustain and grow the critical relationships with the key stakeholders of the local Government, local Government bodies and other leaders (local politicians and community leaders) for reaching the long term vision of SOS Foundation.

  • Design an elaborate vision for SOS Foundation expansion in the region and manage the trained personnel placements, building the annual placement strategy, and looking into the expansion into other Government and low-income private schools in the city.

We Research the biggest needs for our program and the best practices available; Design the solutions to meet the needs, Empower SLs and SMs and students and Learn about the impact of our interventions. Through our work, we impact more than 500 students through the 100 staff members across our 3 cities. We will set the vision, strategy and design Institute in multiple regions in 2015 and on-board and support all new SLs and SMs to execute Institute in a multi city model. During the academic year, we design assessments and curricula for students and provide on‐going training, coaching and support for Fellows and staff across all our cities.

Position Summary:

The CSR Associate will be a subject-matter expert; an internal and external leader who will be responsible for helping SOS to make progress in its ongoing commitment to become a more sustainable and socially responsible company. The Associate shall act as lead staff on all CSR initiatives, shall represent SOS at external events, plans and execute employee CSR engagement efforts as well as manage relationships with external parties and consultants.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as internal expert and external representative on CSR issues. Benchmark competition and industry best practices
  • Craft CSR plans and work with relevant internal stakeholders to implement them. Manage and track goals and metrics
  • Take primary responsibility for maintaining an internal and external CSR web portals and participate in CSR membership organizations and attend conferences
  • Manage external consultants and intern and attend fundraising events/cheque presentation as and when necessary

  • Collaboratively set the vision for outcomes and instruction with the Training SLs and the SMs
  • Design excellent teaching resources for Leads to push their classroom on the Student Vision Scale.
  • Collaborate with the Specialists across cities to lead cities to develop and share best practices
  • Through implementation and continuous feedback drive iterations in training design and support
  • Create teaching modules for integration and rigor that will be used by Fellows throughout.

  • Support the Training and Impact team (SLs and SMs) with additional projects
  • Support Recruitment and Selection Teams

Knowledge and Technical Skills:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English
  • Evidence of instructional knowledge and proficiency in pedagogy
  • Excellent Unit Planning and Long Term Planning (and a strong desire to develop further)
  • Deep understanding (and willingness to learn more about) of how children develop language skills

Competencies and Abilities:

  • Strong time management skills and flexibility in order to accommodate multiple goals simultaneously, with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and work closely with a team and across teams (in the three cities)
  • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail at all times and think critically
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using data to drive decisions: analyzing numbers and trends and critically thinking so as to use data to decide on next steps
  • Ability to set a clear vision and drive toward that vision

Project Deliverables expected from Associate:

  • Using learning theory and technical knowledge to create an educational experience for the HI.
  • Creating a curriculum that uplifts the HI and enables them to admirably, if not flawlessly perform typing tasks and communicate proficiently through text.
